Various questions to fora instruments:
What does optional sampling rate of 5000sps mean?
When we say "Sampling rate up to 2000sps - later optionally 5000sps", the 5000sps means it will be optionally available by choosing nair module.
How many ADC boards are there?
Up to 12 ADC boards, each with 3 channels (12x3=36 totally)
What does high performance CPU mean specifically?
4x Arm Cortex™-A9 Quad-Core, 800Mhz, 2GB RAM DDR
What is an embedded smart battery charger?
It monitors the battery charging level to preserve the battery lifetime, over-voltage and under-voltage protection
What are the parameters for LCD display on the front of the rack panel?
It's a summary of the SOH, time, time source, last event, free memory, errors, input voltage and battery, PGA in case of an event, relay status...
Is it possible to have a different sps for event and data stream? (e.g. 2kHz for event & 100Hz for data stream)
Yes, this is possible.
How many receiving IP address at most?
4 servers can be set, 4 data-streams with seedlink, 1 stream per port with GSBU but any amount of ports can be configured.

How to evaluate the noise performance of a unit?
How to calculate the resolution of a unit?
Resolution is expressed in bits in 2 variants in units of [Bit]:
Noise free / Peak-Peak (PP):
Effective / Root Mean Square (RMS):
Fullscale and Noise could be expressed in counts, volts, g, mm/s, etc.
For example for a ±2 g sensor the Fullscale is 2 g.
How to calculate the dynamic range of a unit?
Dynamic range is expressed in bits in 2 variants in units of [dB]:
Noise free / Peak-Peak (PP):
Effective / Root Mean Square (RMS):
Fullscale and Noise could be expressed in counts, volts, g, mm/s, etc.
For example for a ±2 g sensor the Fullscale is 2 g.
How to convert Bit (resolution) to dB (dynamic range)?

What is a freefield strong motion station?
A free-field strong-motion station for a subject area is intended to measure ground motions that can represent the reference motion not contaminated by any man-made / natural random noise or by structural response or soil-structure interaction.
Here are general guidelines for the selection and or establishment of such a station:
- A foundation that is well coupled with the ground and well protected from environmental effects
- Far away from roads or from any source of transient and random vibration
- Far away from any structure at a distance 3 to 4 times of any dimension of such structure
- Preferred to be on the same type of soil as the overall area under consideration
- Reasonable easy access at all times
